SM Risk Group with Type 1 interconnected

Have any discussion been had regarding SM Risk Group and escape route travel distance concessions for Type 1 interconnected to NZS 4514.
Under C/AS1, DEOP = 35m & TOP = 75m
C/AS2 (& MBIE) remains silent on the new Type 1 interconnected requirement, there is no permitted increase unless Type 4/5 installed (DEOP = 30m & TOP = 75m),
although Table 2.2 Note 1a applies - what travel length limitation applies ? ? ?
Do you generally default back to No system & Type 2 travel limits?

I have always taken it as no alarm / type 2. The note says that if there is no type 4/5/7 alarm then domestic smoke alarms are required in the household units.
I don’t know if it was deliberate, but when interconnected alarms came in C/AS1 (houses) and standalone alarms were deleted, all houses went from 25m DE to 35m DE since the standalone column was deleted without other changes. A significant change - almost another floor on a small terrace house.
I strongly support interconnected alarms, but I don’t know if this change in DEOP in houses was fully considered or justified by data, especially against SM apartments. SM apartments do have to consider the fact that the areas outside the household unit have a larger part to play, since they are multi-unit, usually higher and have shared escape routes so a failure of the escape path outside the unit is more likely. This can justify a shorter distance in the household unit so the overall risk remains acceptable, noting that the risk is not quantified as the travel distances are magic numbers.
